Antwan's All Stars

antwans-all-stars

Antwan’s All Stars began in 2009 at the Avondale Boys & Girls Club with the generous support of all-star Defensive Lineman, Antwan Odom. The goal is to give disadvantaged kids incentive to choose a more positive path, a path with direction, purpose, and hope. Every month, club members who improve their grades, behavior, or service to the community are listed as one of Antwan’s All Stars and receive numerous prizes including Bengals tickets, and the opportunity to meet Bengals players.

Additionally, Antwan visits the Club on a monthly basis to develop meaningful relationships with the kids and serve as a positive role model.

Pledge

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Cincinnati provides daily after school and summer programs for 12,000 children between the ages of 6 and 18 at eleven locations in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. Their goal is to foster the academic, social, and physical development of the boys and girls with a special emphasis on youth from disadvantaged circumstances. In fact, 78% of our children live at or below poverty level and 65% come from single parent households. We provide these children, who otherwise may be left home alone or on the streets, with an opportunity to enjoy numerous activities that support three specific outcomes: (1) high school graduation, (2) fitness for life, and (3) community service.

Inspired by one of his followers on Twitter, Antwan recently made a pledge to the BGCGC to donate $500 for every sack he makes during the 2010-11 season. If you want to pledge to the BGCGC for every sack click here.
